Two members from Splitz Gymnastics Club won gold medals at the South West Schools Acrobatic and Tumbling Championships.

SPLITZ Gymnastics Club took 17 gymnasts to the South West Schools Acrobatic and Tumbling Championships at Sherborne.

Gymnasts represented the following schools – Churchill: Libby Bunker, Ellie Mae Shearer; Oldmixon: Archie Pickles, Kayleigh Down; Priory: Elleanor Atwell, Amy Green; Worle: Harley Richards, Laura Robertson; Milton: Isabelle Murphy; Broadoak: Kayleigh Benham, Sam Middleton; Herons Moor: Harry Shepard; Locking: Maise Carter; Hutton: Olivia Harvey Bennett; St Annes: Sienna Cunliffe; Castle Batch: Chili Harling; Uphill: Storm Rickwood.

Medal winners were: Kayleigh Down (gold); Libby Bunker (gold); Sam Middleton (silver); Chilli Harling (bronze). Close fourth places were recorded by Laura Robertson and Archie Pickles.

Kayleigh Down, Libby Bunker and Sam Middleton will be off to the national finals at Fenton Manor in May, where they will compete against the best in the country.

The club’s next competition is the South West Tumbling rrelims in Bath.
