Splitz Gym Club members turned on the style at the South West acrobatics gymnatic event, earning several medals.

Splitz Gym Club entered gymnasts in two competitions for the South West acrobatics gymnastic event.

At the NDP competition in Yate, Ellie-Mae Shearer and Mia Crocker completed a lovely routine in the grade three pair category. Joined by Kayleigh Benham for their grade three trio with Ellie-Mae and Mia, they scored the highest artistry score of their category, placing them in a brilliant fifth place.

Grade four mixed pair, Archie Pickles and Maddison Hughes, performed a challenging routine for their age and achieved the highest artistry score of their category with their perfected routine, placing them with a silver medal.

At the CDC competition at Sherborne, Chloe Reyes and Emily Sands completed a great and fun routine in grade one pairs, achieving the fourth highest artistry score in their category.

Jessica Wilford and Emma Rush landed a well-deserved silver medal with their brilliant routine and also achieved the highest technical score in their category, even with it being Emma’s first competition.

Followed by teammates in the same category, Daisy Hooper and Amalie Moore were placed fifth with a well-rehearsed routine and third highest artistry in the category. It was also Amelie’s first competition with Splitz.

Last of the day, the club had two trio’s competing against each other in the same category. Isabelle Newberry, Leah Whitefield and Abigail Page scored the second highest technical score of the category and achieved fifth place, followed by Jessica Wilford, Freya Grafton and Emma Rush in sixth place, who achieved the highest artistry score of the whole category.

A big thank you goes to Carmen Benham and Eleanor Robertson, who coached the gymnasts to medal-winning success.
