Clevedon Swimming Club held its first-ever Sprint Meet at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre.
More than 300 swimmers participated from 15 different clubs, with some making journeys from as far away as Dawlish and West Dorset in order to compete.
During the event all swimmers compete in five events, four 50m races (freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly) and the 100m individual medley.
Trophies were awarded to the top male and female swimmers in each age group with Clevedon swimmers enjoying considerable success.
Jamie Steadman and Martha Sell were winners in the 10 year age group, Ryan Baldwin and Eva Farmery in the 13 year age group, while Fin James won the male 14 years age group and Amelia Hancock the girls’ 15 years age group.
This is the first event of a busy start to the swimming season for the club. Distance events for club championships have already begun, and Arena League and Four Seasons swimmers are looking forward to their first galas over the coming weeks.
Clevedon is a friendly, competitive club who welcome swimmers from age seven upwards. Further information about joining can be obtained by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
