Steve wins winter series at Shiplate

Steve Howell emerged the victor in the Shiplate Farm Winter Series.
THE final of the Shiplate Farm Winter Series at Bleadon proved to be quite a battle.
With glorious winter sunshine and a light breeze, the competitors set off to their pegs on the Hawthorns with great anticipation of who the final winner of the six round series would be and who would be the match winner.
Tom Light (peg 13) won the day with a good haul of carp and silvers totalling 58lb 12oz. He fished expander pellet to the shelf at 13m, feeding micros. Second was Gordon Jones (peg 9), with 28lb 4oz and silvers went to Steve Howell (peg 4), 13lb 12oz.
Section winners were Andy France (peg 12), 19lb 4oz and John Hawkins (peg 7), 15lb 13oz.
