WINSCOMBE Tennis Club ladies ended a highly succesful season with a well-supported autumn doubles American tournament organised by captain Ruth Angelinetta.
The event produced some excellent tennis with competitive matches for the eight couples, resulting in victory for membership secretary Suzie Gore and partner Judy Wilkinson, with runners-up Claire Lacey and Patricia Fellowes.
An exhibition match involving top Somerset players is now being planned to mark the completion of a new �17,000 lighting system which has replaced original floodlights dating from the club’s move to their new site 21 years ago.
