Avenue Tennis Club’s Megan Rundle enjoyed considerable success during the month of August.

MEGAN Rundle from the Avenue Tennis Club has had a bumper August, winning several Mini Red (Under-8) trophies and medals.

She captured both the Somerset Closed and the Somerset Open Tourament titles at Taunton Blackbrook Tennis Centre, as well as taking the Avenue’s Girls Mini Red Open and winning a voucher from tournament sponsors Tony Pryce Sports.

Megan’s coach Vinny Duddy said that Megan worked hard in all her matches and he was particularly pleased with her serving. Her dad, Scott Rundle, was also pleased with how Megan conducted herself off and on court.

The club will be the venue for the Somerset Over-45s men’s team, who will take on the West of Scotland on Sunday from 10.30am where the club will be represented by head coach Vinny Duddy and Glen Pigden.

Duddy also said that players and families should note that the new coaching term will start on September 5 and that forms for the courses and details of the events and tennis coaching courses held at the Avenue Tennis Club could be obtained from the office on 01278 782758 or from the club website www.avenuetennis.com
