Successful regatta

WESTON Bay Yacht Club Regatta is an open event with races held over two days.Local clubs are invited to participate such as Cardiff Yacht Club, Cardiff Bay Yacht Club, Portishead Cruising Club, Burnham Yacht Club, Newport and Uskmouth Sailing Club and Barry Yacht Club. Saturday's race started with a light wind which threatened to disappear completely. However, as the race progressed, the wind picked up to Force 5 with sudden gusts. Sunday's race saw a Force 7 wind, making it hard work, but a really enjoyable race. The overall winners were: Class 1, Jehad. Class 2, Greensleeves; Gunsmoke; Widget.The regatta was an enjoyable and successful event and at Sunday's presentation and prizegiving, Patrick Jensen, the vice-commodore, thanked everyone for their hard work.
