AFTER two matches, the Veals Summer League starts to warm up with loads of keen anglers pitting their wits against the elements and the fish.
The first match has seen all top three places taken by local club The Weston Outcasts with Andy Madsen coming first with a total weight of 2lb 2.5oz. Second was England international Dave Lovelock with a total weight of 1lb 8.75oz and third Steve Ace with a total weight of 1lb 8oz. The second match held in the same venue of Aust on May 9 saw fantastic weather and 40 anglers turning up to catch something that may see them at the top of the leader board in this well organised series of matches. There were 113 fish weighed in including 31 flounders, 78 silver eels and two codling.
First prize went to Steve Davis from Bristol with 2lb 3.25oz, second was Andy Hobbs from Gloucester with a total weight of 2lb 2oz and Steve Ace took third with a total weight of 2lb 1.75oz.
