WINSCOMBE Wayfarers, currently second in Group A of the Archdale Cup, took full advantage of their handicaps against the Division 1 Winscombe Renegades. Richard Parker (10) won all three points for Wayfarers, although he needed all three games. Simon Kneeshaw (12) collected two, beating Bob Strachan (0) and Trevor Jones (-1) falling to Dave Williams (1) who managed to claw back his deficit 20-21, 21-18 and 19-21. Phil Yates (11) was successful against Williams and Jones. Wayfarers won 7-2.Wayfarers, when away to top of Group A's Vets A, had a much tighter match against a determined Division 1 team. Richard Parker started well with a win in three over Peter Butterworth who found his -2 just too much to overcome. Butterworth went on to beat Simon Kneeshaw in two and Phil Yates in three. Vets' Colin Lewis (2) beat Parker and Kneeshaw, but Ann Sandford was out of luck after a close three sets. Wayfarers just ran out winners 5-4.Doing well and topping Group B, Totterdown Flamingos had a 7-2 win over C & C Cobras helped by Graham Cheeseman (10) and Nigel Andrews (9) who won all three. Andy Romoff (14) took the other point with close two games against Warren Taylor (15), both games ending 20-21. Equally handicapped Cobras' Simon Thomas (14) and Callum Parkins (15) fought tight sets against Romoff ending with hard earned victory for both.
