TAYLOR Harris became world champion at the International Mounted Games Association Championships held at the David Broome Centre, Chepstow, on her 15th birthday last Sunday.

TAYLOR Harris, a student at Priory Community School in Worle, became world champion at the International Mounted Games Association Championships held at the David Broome Centre, Chepstow, on her 15th birthday last Sunday.

Riding Mercedes, her 13.3 hands chestnut pony, Taylor started her early rounds down the heats, but got through to the semi-finals. She made good progress and was four points ahead of her nearest rival to win the world under-15 individual championships.

Taylor has been riding since she was six and joined the Banwell Pony Club three years ago and under the training of Taff Wilson, has competed all over the country, winning numerous competitions. She also rides for Monmouth MGA.

Two days before her stunning win, Taylor came sixth in the under-17s on her other pony, Bambi-Jack.
