Team Mendip ladies remain unbeaten after their first three matches.

TEAM Mendip have had a great start to the season, winning their first three matches against Bradley Stoke Youth 2-0, Portishead Town 6-2 and Downend Flyers 2-1.

Manager Paul Mears said: “This has been a dream start, the hard work the girls put in over the summer is paying off. As long as I can keep the girls fit, we should have another successful season.”

The team would like to thank the continued support of Howdens Kitchen & Joinery for sponsoring the match kit.

Team Mendip Under-11’s 2

Galmington Dragons 1

TEAM Mendip started Under-11s their first season of competitive football brightly.

Mendip worked hard to get their first goal when Phoebe Hughes popped up just inside the box to put Mendip one up. The Dragons managed to break through Mendip’s back line several times, but Jenny Veale kept them out.

Toula-May Harris, Bayley Farrow, Annabel Cunningham and Alysha Forsbrook worked hard and passed to Emily Ford, who was looking to set up goals.

After a good spell of position football by Mendip, Ford took up a good position in the box to smash home Mendip’s second goal putting them 2-0 up.

The Dragons managed to pull a goal back after some loose marking from Mendip, as the game ended 2-1 to Mendip. The Secret Orchard Player of the match was Harris.

Team Mendip would like to thank Andy Stallard for his continued support of the club since its set up in 2008 and this season has sponsored a new kit for the ladies’ first team.
