Cheddar Tennis Club held its Road to Wimbledon tournament with the event won by Freddie Bunn, who beat Max Helps in the final.

Freddie’s greater playing experience and consistency helped him secure a convincing 5-1 win. Both Freddie and Max will go on to represent Cheddar in the county finals to be held at Taunton.

The overall winner of the county stage will then make their way to the prestigious courts at Wimbledon.

The club will be holding its next open day on July 9th, with fun and games in the morning for juniors aged four to 16 years between 9.30am-12.30pm and helpful hints for seniors in the afternoon from 2-4pm, all under the supervision of head coach Stephen Pearce.

There will be free refreshments on offer and reduced membership fees for new children and adults joining on that day.
