The Squad beat SMSN to the Sunday Premiership title at Soccersixes.

THE night that decided the Soccersixes championship kicked off with SMSN needing a win in order to have any chance of being crowned champions over The Squad.

After going a goal down against Farcalona A, SMSN had to battle hard in order to keep their dreams alive. With two inspirational goals from Andy Giles, they managed to see away Farcalona with the game ending 4-2 to SMSN.

With this, The Squad were under pressure to secure the win against a tricky Inbetweeners side. After a nervous start, Dave Walker led the The Squad to a 7-0 victory, demonstrating why they deserved to be champions.

After winning the Championship last year, The Squad have now been crowned champions of the Premiership.

With the title already decided in the Championship, two teams battled it out for the second place promotion spot. With both Cunning Stunts B and Quiche Park Stranger seeming to have control of their games, they both slipped at the last minute losing by one goal.

With goal difference now being the deciding factor, it was Quiche Park Strangers who had the better record and secured their place in the Premiership.

The new season starts on Sunday and Soccersixes are always on the lookout for new teams wishing to join. Any teams interested should contact Richard Rollason on 07929 241693 or register online www.soccersixes.net
