A ‘Tonkerfest’ is being held at Uphill Castle and Weston cricket club in aid of Peter Trego’s benefit year.

UPHILL Castle and Weston cricket clubs are hosting a ‘Tonkerfest’ in aid of Peter Trego’s benefit year on September 27.

Held on both grounds, there will be six teams playing a 10-overs-a-side tournament, with many county stars in attendance.

There will be evening entertainment at the Weston club, with the Lipinski band playing live music.

The organising committee has also arranged a dinner in the Long Room at Lords on October 22 at 7pm.

The room is hung with some of the finest paintings in MCC’s impressive collection, and is at the heart of cricket’s grandest clubhouse. Dinner guests will enjoy an ambiance steeped in the history of the game.

On offer is a three-course dinner plus half bottle of wine per person, with the evening compered by Jim Rosenthal. Entertainment is provided by stand-up comedian Stan Boardman and guests include Ron Atkinson, Lee Byrne and Marcus Trescothick.

Tickets cost £150 and for information or to book, contact Graham Masarik on 07734 870578, Debbie Baird on 01934 418830 or email tregs2015@outlook.com
