CLEVEDON Town's Under-18s marched into the quarter-finals of the Southern League Youth Cup with this drawn game with Merthyr.
In a game of end-to-end football, during the first half the visitors seemed to be a dangerous outfit on set play and Town's young keeper Sam Hemmingsley made several crucial saves.
In the second half, Town's Liam Knight and Jamie Adams had near misses and nearly opened the scoring, but for some good saves.
Merthyr broke the deadlock when they caught Town on the break on the hour. Clevedon responded well, stepping up a gear and they equalised when Rob Harroway was pulled down and Jamie Adams scored from the penalty spot in the 80th minute.
On Thursday, February 25, Clevedon visit Portishead in a local derby league game.
