Oldmixon and Uphill Karate Kai members took two gold medals at the Western Karate Union Winter Championships held at Hutton Moor.
STUDENTS from the Oldmixon & Uphill Karate Kai took part in the Western Karate Union Winter Championships at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre.
There were over 500 entries, so it was a busy day and the club came away with two gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
Congratulations go to: Josh White (gold) up to 6th Kyu Kata 10-12 years; Chloe Carchrie (gold) 13-15 years girls’ senior grade Kumite; Sam Cross (silver) 10-12 years girls’ junior grade Kumite; Paige Hoddinott (bronze) 10-12 years girls’ senior grade Kumite.
The club trains at Oldmixon School on Wednesday evenings and Uphill Village Hall on Friday evenings. A further session is available at Locking Village Hall on Friday evenings.
