A CASTLE Combe double header race meeting saw Langford’s Roger Orgee secure two more podium positions, which means he has finished in the top three for every race this year.

In race one, Roger qualified on row two of the grid. Once again six cars broke away from the pack but on entering camp corner at around 115mph all six cars sailed off the track on an oil slick that had just been laid by a car blowing up its engine.

Incredibly no-one spun and they all ran over the grass and, eventually, back onto the track, not in the same order as they went in though. Roger emerged third and for the rest of the race chased the leading cars to finish alongside the second placed car.

In race two, it was another row two position and another average start saw Roger in fifth position. This time though the first three broke away and Roger was stuck behind a slightly slower fourth placed car.

However, by lap three he was through and started to close up to the first three. It took almost seven laps to catch the leaders. Roger made a well-timed swoop into the final corner to seize third place on the line.
