WESTON Croquet Club continued their season post Olympics and what a week it was for Judith Hutton, who won two club trophies.
She competed the final of the 14 point Association competition and won an exciting final against Shirley Buckley. This was followed by winning the club’s ladies’ day competition, this time defeating Anne Francis in an eagerly contested final.
In the league competition, the teams completed their season, the Association Intermediate and Central teams both won their matches against Bath and Kington Langley, but the Central Golf team went down 8-12 to Nailsea.
The club’s teams had their most successful season to date, with the Central Association team finishing joint top of their league, the South East Golf team finishing second for the second year running and the other two teams finishing in respectable mid-table positions.
