AFTER an even start with both sides contributing to an open game, Clevedon United took the lead after seven minutes when top scorer Sam Clark found space on the left and used his pace to get clear of the Almondsbury defence before slotting the ball past the advancing keeper.

The lead was extended to 2-0 after 15 minutes with skipper Ryan King scoring after a break down the right. Almondsbury pulled one back after 30 minutes from Jordan Cooper with an excellent strike from the edge of the penalty area which deflected off and upright.

The second half was full of flowing football, United's defence was dominated by Sam Johnson and man of the match Nathan Best and Matt Fisher scored United's third a minute from time with a shot from an acute angle to secure the three points.
