Uphill Badminton Club’s C team defeated Pill 8-1 to comprehensively win the Division 5 championship.

The Uphill Badminton Club junior C team completed a perfect season with a comprehensive 8-1 victory in their last match away v Pill.

The team of Anna Bickell, Heather Russell, Beth Chadwick, Harrison Whitehouse, Paul Wright and Zion Chen all played well in a match far closer than the scoreline suggests.

The three mixed were won by Uphill despite Paul and Heather being pushed to 19 in a decider and Beth and Zion winning 29-27, 21-19. The men’s again all went to Uphill with Harrison and Paul going to three.

The ladies were even closer with all three going to deciders. Anna won with both Heather and Beth before Heather and Beth were edged out 18 in the third in the night’s last rubber.

This 8-1 win gave Uphill the perfect 10 wins from 10. This includes a remarkable seven 9-0 wins and incredible points total of 101 out of a possible 110.

Congratulations to all 12 players who have contributed to winning the Division 5 trophy over the season.
