Uphill Castle Under-16s kept their 100 per cent record as they close in on the title.

UPHILL Castle Under-16s have kept their 100 per recent with another three victories.

Against Gordano Valley Giants, Uphill won 5-0 with goals from Cam Milkins (3), Cam Frost and Jack Edwards. The Old Thatched Cottage man of the match was Cam Milkins.

In their hardest test of the season, Uphill defeated Axbridge Saxons 2-1. Castle took the lead with a goal from Jordan Shepherd and Edwards doubled the lead, before Axbridge pulled a goal back.

Player of the match was Jordan Shepherd.

Uphill moved to within one win of winning the division with a hard-earned victory over a good Nailsea side.

It was against the run of play when Nailsea took the lead, but Uphill soon equalised when Milkins netted.

After the break, Edwards burst through the defence to score before further goals from Thorne and Edwards made the final score 4-1. Player of the match was Sam Calvert.

WESTON Crusaders Under-10s continue to hold onto the top spot in their league, after hosting Clevedon Colts.

The A team had a convincing 6-1 win, with Charlie Biggs, Adam Shobbrook, Ben Porter and Billy Lammiman scoring. Goalkeeper Sid Rai, was man of the match for his excellent work throughout.

The B team took an early lead with captain James Bonner scored within minutes of kick-off. The lead went back and forth, but despite Crusaders’ hard work, Colts came out on top with a 4-3 win.

Emilien Nozahic was the B team’s man of the match.

WITH no other teams playing for the St Johns and nobody willing to commit to start with a younger age group, the club has no choice but to fold.
