Victoria picked up 12 points in beating Clarence in the Weston Mixed League.

VICTORIA enjoyed success in the Weston Mixed League, picking up 12 points in an 11-shot victory over Clarence.

The rink wins were shared with both winning two rinks, but the eight-shot winning margin of the rink skipped by Derek Hurst with Hannah Frye, John Langridge and Graham Richards carried Victoria to victory.

In the second Leg of the Ron Taylor Cup, Victoria faced a strong St Andrews team, who won the leg and cup convincingly. The rink of Ray Bromet, John Newman and skip Malcolm Campbell recorded an excellent consolation rink win of nine shots.

Victoria played North Petherton in the Somerset County League with Mike Stocker skipping his rink of Pete Wyatt, Carmin Santosuosso and Dave Fairhurst to a consolation rink win.

Victoria ladies lost narrowly on both rinks against North Petherton.

WOODSPRING Indoor Bowls Club won a return men’s friendly against Isle of Wedmore overall, by winning one rink and drawing the other.

Earlier in the season, Wedmore had won convincingly on their own green. Woodspring wish to thank Wedmore for both games which were much enjoyed.

Rink one skipped by A Williams drew 15-15 and the second four, skipped by M Campbell, won 15-10.
