Avenue Tennis Club coaches introduce tennis to local junior schools.

AVENUE Tennis Club coaches Vinny Duddy and Craig Phillips served up tennis lessons every day of the week from 9am-3pm in St Andrews, St Josephs and Mark Junior Schools.

The pair gave fun tennis taster sessions to over 750 children during the week. The sessions are aimed at introducing tennis to juniors prior to the club’s open day on July 3 and Wimbledon.

The next tournament at the club will be the preliminary rounds of the Somerset Closed on June 4-5 when players (ladies and men) will compete in a singles and doubles competition. The event is open to spectators.

A Mini Red and Orange tournament will be held on June 12 from 11am-1pm.

Junior coaching sessions are available at the Avenue every night of the week and on Saturdays from 9am-2.30pm for all age groups and standards.

Adult coaching is available for beginners/returners to the game on Friday nights (6.30-8pm) and
for players who have played
before on a Thursday (7.15-9.15pm).

Details of coaching and what’s on can be obtained from the club’s website (www.avenuetennis.com) or you can ring the club on 01278 782758.
