A weakened side from Weston-super-Mare Swimming Club's water polo section, travelled to the open air Sandford Lido at Cheltenham for a Bristol & West Water Polo League Division 2 game

A weakened side from Weston-super-Mare Swimming Club's water polo section, travelled to the open air Sandford Lido at Cheltenham for a Bristol & West Water Polo League Division 2 game.They faced a side which included three England internationals, two ex-international, and one former professional player. Needless to say Weston were easily beaten 24-4.Sean Coles netted a hat-trick for the Seasiders, whilst Paul Watkins got the other goal. There was a good performance from captain Greg Harper, and goalkeeper Justin Beardon made many good saves which kept the score reasonable.Water polo in Weston has now ceased for the summer break on Thursday evenings, and this session has transferred to Portishead Open Air Pool.Sunday night training for juniors continues until the end of July, and that then ceases until Sunday, September 3.Further information on water polo can be obtained from Mike Coles on 01934 511456.
