Wedmore celebrated its 10th anniversary of its new clubhouse and indoor rink with a special match.
THE English Indoor Bowls Association (EIBA) came to Wedmore to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the new clubhouse and indoor rinks.
Over a splendid lunch provided by the ladies, president Arthur Broadberry spoke warmly of Wedmore’s success, paying tribute to the office holders and volunteers who make the club tick.
Four teams played a match spread over morning and afternoon, with the EIBA team including players from nine counties. The EIBA had a comfortable victory with 80 shots to 52 overall, while Ron Barron led the only Wedmore side to win a rink in a close contest.
