Manager Scott Bartlett said Saturday’s match at Beaconsfield Town is an “important one” for Weston AFC.

The Seagulls are now six games unbeaten, having drawn their last two games - with Farnborough on Tuesday night and Salisbury last Saturday - which came after successive wins over Merthyr Town, Hayes & Yeading United and Kings Langley the week before.

And Bartlett says he hopes his side can return to winning ways with victory over the Rams

“It’s a game that it’s going to be an important one for us,” he said.

“We have to win, we have to win. If we lose or draw that’s two points in a week.

“Last week everyone was saying how well we were doing, patting us on the back (after) nine points in a week.

“If we win on Saturday that will be five points so that will 14 in two weeks, we will take that. But we need to make sure that we are really at it. To do that we need to recover well.

“We’ve got to pick the right team, I have got to pick the right team with Lairdy, Knowsley and the staff.

“We have got to travel up there well, do all the right things and then approach the game in the right way like we always do.”

Bartlett said naming his starting line-up is “always difficult” and Saturday’s encounter in Buckinghamshire will be no different.

But he continued by saying the professionalism shown by his team has been second to none.

“It’s always difficult but no one is ever happy when they are not playing,” he added.

“If they are not playing for a long period of time then something normally happens, might be a loan, might go permanently but with the majority of our squad from maybe one or two that feel a little bit hard done by at the moment.

“We have got a really good balance in terms of competition. Everyone has racked up a lot of appearances. Getting that balance right is my job and that’s hard but I have to say the attitude of the players have been first class and very professional in that regard.

“It is a bit of balancing act at times, picking the right players for the right games.

“But largely as a whole in terms of the squad and keeping the harmony and people involved, not going stale, keep people fresh also have the bravery to rest a player who’s on really good form.

“Sometimes for the betterment of the next run of games or squad it’s important. We have got lots to work with, loads to work on and we will crack on as normal.”
