Phytos Yianni won the first match in the Veal’s Fishing Tackle Summer League held at Littleton-upon-Severn.
Weston angler Phytos Yianni won the first match in the Veal’s Fishing Tackle Summer League.
Forty three anglers took to the banks of Littleton-upon-Severn for what turned out to be a tough opening match of the series, who won by a good margin on the night.
Phytos picked up £170 cash for his flounder and two eels. This victory included a good match win and heaviest fish of the night with a flounder of 1lb 3oz.
Results – zone A: N Young 1lb 2ozs; G Withy 8oz. Zone B: S Ace 14.5ozs; T Bayford 5.5ozs. Zone C: P Yianni 1lb 11oz; D Blackwell 15.5ozs. Super pool: P Yianni £120; N Young £80; D Blackwell £35.
