Weston CC coach Sam Trego insists he is feeling “really positive” about their upcoming pre-season schedule.

The first match will be against Congresbury on April 10, where both firsts and seconds will be involved.

On the same day there will be an intra-club game between the thirds, fourth and fifths.

A week later, on April 17, all sides will be in action with an intra-club game between the firsts and seconds, while the thirds, fourths and fifths will host Wedmore.

And on April 24 both firsts and seconds travel to Wembdon, while some of both teams will take on a Simon Turner XI at Devonshire Road.

“I’m feeling really positive about these upcoming pre-season fixtures as they are really important in getting some mileage into all the lads," said Trego, after the 2020 season was delayed until July by the coronavirus pandemic.

"We’ve not been able to train as of yet so we are almost going into our first game with no outdoor practice which is something a bit different to previous seasons.

“It’s what we’ve all been looking forward to now for what has seemed an eternity. It was great to get in five, six games last season once the lockdown ended but there's going to be nothing better than getting back to league action and some competitive cricket this year.”
