THE new manager of Weston Football Club could be announced within the next week.
The football club is seeking to replace Craig Laird, who stepped down at the end of the season, after guiding the Seagulls to an 11th place finish.
Laird told the Mercury it was a ‘difficult’ decision to leave but said he would not feel comfortable taking a depleted squad to games next season following cuts to his playing budget.
A statement by the board today (Thurs), said: “The date for applications has now passed.
“The board is expecting to make an announcement on the successful applicant next week.”
