WESTON Football Club manager Andy Gurney has departed his role just a week after the club was relegated.
The Woodspring Stadium club confirmed today (Fri) that Gurney, who took charge in August 2008, has left by mutual consent.
A statement released by the Blue Square South club said: "It is with regret that the club announce the departure of manager Andy Gurney by mutual consent following a difficult season on the pitch.
"The board would like to take this opportunity to thank Andy for his contribution to the club both as team captain and manager."
Gurney's former assistant Ryan Northmore is taking temporary charge until the end of the season.
His first game will be against Welling United at the Woodspring Stadium this Saturday.
