Weston Aerobic Gymnastics Club swept the board at the Southern Regional Championships, with more than 60 members taking part.

Sixty gymnasts from Weston Aerobic Gymnastics competed at the Southern Regional Championships last weekend and again swept the board in nearly all the categories entered.

The two-day competition catered for every level of competitive gymnasts from introductory up to international level.

Record breaking scores came from several of the Weston gymnasts, Lottie Janes, Maria Wong and Nicole Wong in their trio had the highest regional score. Izzy Worral had the highest national score and Lola Lawrence, who will be one of the Weston gymnasts representing Great Britain at upcoming world championships in May, achieved the highest-ever score given to a GBR 12-year-old gymnast

Regional level pre-foundation - individual women – gold: Lottie Janes (joint highest RAC score of 17.300); silver: Niamh Austen, seventh with 16.25; Megan Harvey first competition.

Trio – gold: Lottie Janes, Maria Wong and Nicole Wong (joint highest RAC score of 17.300).

National development - individual women – gold: Justina Makoetlane; bronze: Delphine Churchill.

Individual male – gold: Devon Howell. Pairs – gold: Justina Makoetlane and Molly Hobbs; silver: Alexia Allcock and Devon Howell.

Trio – gold: Delphine Churchill, Libby Hadley and Matilda Belbin; bronze: Abigail Doolan, Erin Richards and Lucy Whitfield.
