Weston head the table
Weston stayed top of the Somerset Super League Darts after beating South Somerset.
WESTON hosted South Somerset in the Somerset Super League Darts in search of a big win to keep them top of the division.
Weston got off to a good start with George Turnbull (24.21) followed by Tim Strutt (23.21) both winning 3-1, but Weston let the first two games slide on board 1 before captain Nick English (20.77) put the board back on track winning 3-1.
Weston extended their lead further with Mark Stainer (20.45) and Clive Strong (22.11) both winning. The game was taken away further from Somerset on board two with Darrell Brown (20.52) winning 3-0 with a 180, quickly followed by Gary Howell (22.13) winning 3-2.
Weston now had a healthy lead of 22-14, but with Somerset taking the last game on board 1, it was up to Ian Cope (21.59) winning 3-0 and Weston’s top average man Ricky Harding putting in another top performance, winning 3-0 with a 28.33 average. Weston went into the pairs 30-17 to the good and within throwing distance of victory.

Weston started brightly with Stainer and Strutt (3-1) and English and Roy Staples (3-2) giving Weston victory.
Now all legs helped towards promotion back to the premier division, but promptly lost the next three pairs. All rested on Harding and Jimmy Hunt to rescue a good night which was duly done with a 3-1 victory.

Weston came out with a healthy win of 43-30 and two 180s were also hit by Clint Harding. Weston’s man of the match went to Ricky Harding.
The next game is the decider on May 26 away at second placed Taunton A for the last game of the season. The bus leaves Bristol Hotel at 6.30pm.
