Weston held league leaders Somerset Gryphons to a draw, improving significantly on a 7-0 defeat earlier in the season.

With a previous defeat of 7-0 to top of the table Somerset Gryphons, Weston knew they had a hard game ahead.

Straight from the whistle, Weston trapped the opposition with a high press. Sam Neate, along with Neate jnr held firm to pick any attackers off, throwing the ball immediately wide for the counter attacks.

With a strong performance from Ninnis and Mount it helped to push the ball up, offloading it to Kearsey attacking with pace. Weston had kept the threat of Mills under wraps as he wriggled clear, only for a Canter to tip it over.

As the game developed, Weston had numerous unsuccessful attacks, but towards the end of the first-half, a well-worked attack between Thorne, Sully and Watkins, the ball was offloaded to Hancock to secure a 1-0 lead.

An exciting half ended with the opposition having a breakthrough, the shot being placed into goal by an under pressure Mount.

With Cunnigham and Mobsby providing pace and fitness to the second half, Weston pressed on, hunting for another goal.

Both Weston and Gryphons received green and yellow cards, as the match finished 1-1. Weston can hold their heads high after a great performance compared to last time and were happy to walk away with a well-deserved point.

The Curry Garden man of the match went to Sam Neate, while DoD goes to CJ Neate.
