Weston ladies ended their season with a draw against near neighbours Winscombe.
Weston Ladies 1st XI 2
Winscombe Ladies 2nd XI 2
WESTON ended their season away at Winscombe and finished with a 2-2 draw.
They started well, squeezing Winscombe’s midfield and defence with good play between Katie Elliot and Charlotte Crandon and forcing the ball into the opposition’s D. Elsa Greed and Mercedes Benz player of the match Lucy Clarke supported the press, allowing Ollie Elliot to drive through and score.
Winscombe fought back in the decond half and despite some excellent defending from Charlotte Gordon, Claire Westgate and Cat Williams, Winscombe managed to put two past Weston keeper Sarah Morrison.
Weston were up for the challenge and Westgate ploughed through the middle finding Lysette Bassett, who forced the ball through the defence on several occasions and Becky Childs was on hand to score the equaliser.
