Weston defeated West Somerset in the Somerset Super Darts League.

WESTON played host to West Somerset in the Somerset Super Darts League.

Weston started in fourth spot, just behind West Somerset and were looking for a win to push up the table.

Weston started poorly, trailing 5-9 before Clive Strong (22.17) won 3-0, along with Nick English (3-2). Another game was lost before Ian Cope (22.78) won 3-0. There was a sterling performance from Ricky Harding, who hit eight tons in his 3-0 victory with a 27.37 average. This was followed up by Gary Howell winning 3-2 and George Turnbull (23.77) hitting a 180 in his 3-0 win.

Paul Tyler (20.88) finished off board one with a 3-0 win leaving Weston in a good position leading 27-19.

In the pairs, English and Turnbull kicked the second half off with a 3-1 victory, but Somerset made a comeback with two wins.

Weston pressed home there advantage with Harding and Martin winning 3-0, giving Weston. Jimmy Hunt and Howell pressed home with a 3-2 win and Tyler and Clint Harding finished off with a 3-1 victory, Weston ending 42-29 winners.

49 club man of the match went to Ricky Harding.

The next game is away at Chard on January 26 (6.30pm leave). Meanwhile, in the Christmas break, there is the 49 Social Club open darts competition with over �500 in prizes on offer.
