WESTON’S sixth league game saw them take a 7-0 win against a deflated Westbury D team.

Weston carried on their fine form from last week’s game in a one-sided game. From the moment the whistle was blown, Weston were on top, with near misses from Chris Etchells and Roy Beer.

The first goal came from a rebounded short corner which saw Dave Beer score his first goal of the season. A second quickly followed from Etchells which saw the backboard from a great passage of play between Dave Beer, Dave Holland, Matt Kearsey and Roy Beer.

Halfway through the first-half, Roy Beer scored with a superb reverse strike. By half-time the score was 5-0 to Weston and the confidence was high.

The second half got off to a slow start with Westbury stepping up their game. This forced Weston to play from the back with great compilation of passes and moves to get behind the tiring Westbury defence.

This onslaught continued midway into the second half with Holland firing home a goal from a tight angle. Isolated attacks from Westbury were dealt with by the strong and unbroken Weston defence of Kyle Sully, Rob Duckett, Paul Ninnis and George Davis.

The final score ended in a 7-0 win for Weston giving them their fifth win this season.

Mercedes man of the match was awarded to George Davis. Dench Fitness DOD was given to Nick Bily.
