Weston youngster Kailan Gould has been enjoying good form for Western League Premier Division side Shepton Mallet.

WESTON starlet Kailan Gould is lighting up Western League Premier Division side Shepton Mallet.

Seventeen-year old-Gould made history in July by becoming the youngest player in the history of the Seagulls when featuring against Sky Bet League One side Bristol City in a pre-season friendly at the age of 16 years and 177 days.

After being invited to trials at Coventry City and Exeter City, Kailan, from Midsomer Norton, played a staring role as Weston Under-18s battled through to an FA Youth Cup first round tie at Cheltenham Town.

In recent weeks, Gould scored one and set-up one in a 2-2 Western League Premier Division draw for Mallet at Cadbury Heath that secured him the man of the match champagne, before scoring the winner against title favourites Bristol Manor Farm in another league clash at Old Wells Road.
