Weston Town Under-13s won their division after an excellent 5-0 victory over Clevedon.

WESTON Town Under-13s came up against Clevedon knowing a point was all they needed to win the division.

Weston started on the front foot and after a flurry of early pressure, Heal’s corner was smashed home by Manaton. Town continued to dominate, Snell was a spectator for virtually all of the first-half, occasionally coming out to clear a long ball.

Swires, Murphy and Manaton held a firm line, but were rarely troubled, while Large and Maidment played wide with the usual deadly duo of Pritchet and Kelly taking no prisoners in the midfield and supporting the forward duo of Thomas and Bambury.

After the break, Manaton scored again to double the lead and minutes later Weston were awarded a penalty, which Grimes converted. Thomas made it 4-0 and after Pritchet’s shot was turned around for a corner, man of the match Murphy netted the fifth from 25 yards.

The team is looking for new players to join their Division 1 squad for next season, current school year eight and year nine from September.
