The latest open match at Shiplate Farm was hit by persistent rain and gusty winds.
SHIPLATE Farm’s open match on the Main Lake was a very wet one.
Persistent rain and gusty south westerly winds meant it was not going to be a comfortable match for any of the anglers. With heavy rain the day before, the amount of fresh water that had gone into the lake was sure to change the feeding pattern of late.
Tich Williams (Thyers/Drennan) fished the method to the island with mini boilies and micros, alternating feeding hemp on the pole with paste to win the match from peg 14 with 153lb 2oz
Second was John Hawkins (Bristol PO) peg 3, 105lb 2oz, followed by Rob Dowden (Shiplate) peg 5, 78lb. Silvers went to Gordon Jones (Shiplate) peg 13, 14lb 10oz.
