The men's match was reduced to 18 ends due to the high temperatures, with Winscombe claiming a five-shot victory.

An over-60 match against St Andrews was marred by one of their opponents feeling unwell on another very hot day, with the rink abandoned after nine ends.

Winscombe won on three rinks and drew the other to take all but one of the points on offer.

Meanwhile, a decisive win over Clevedon saw Winscombe romp into the semi-final of the North Somerset Bowls Assocation's KO Cup.

Two rinks were drawn in the Over-60 League clash, as Mike Samways, Mike Peters and skip Doug Grier nearly pulled off a win, dropping a shot on the last end.

Bob Chandler, Roger Packer and skip Derek Weston were four down with two to play, picked up a three on the 17th end and held their nerve to earn a share of the spoils.
