Winscombe 2nd XI gained maximum points in the victory over Burnham.

WINSCOMBE seconds entertained Burnham 2nd XI and again took maximum points.

Winscombe, chose to field first and Bawden junior was first to break through, with another wicket falling soon after.

Burnham steadied the ship and looked to take the game away from Winscombe, before the introduction of Lunn, who managed to take three wickets at regular intervals, which put Burnham back on the back foot.

Winscombe maintained the pressure and bowled Burnham out for 123 with nine overs to spare.

Winscombe’s openers set about the run chase, but M Coe was removed early. However, Reeve and Hutchinson set about restoring order and laid down a good platform before they too were removed.

This brought G Coe and Bawden senior together and Winscombe never looked in trouble again, with Coe finishing with an impressive 41 not out.
