Winscombe have bagged themselves national housebuilder Redrow as their new sponsor.

The Somerset County League Division One West side, who were founded in 1922, is a well-regarded local club after receiving the FA ‘Charter Standard Community Club’, the highest recognition the FA can bestow on an amateur team.

The club includes 18 teams of various age groups, ranging from seniors through to junior and mini teams.

And the sponsorships of the club by Redrow will enable them to fund required essentials to keep the club running, such as the installation of additional showers in the changing rooms to meet revised FA guidelines and to improve COVID safety.

"The support of companies in the area, such as Redrow, is invaluable," said Winscombe chairman Andy Flint.

"Outside financial support greatly helps the army of volunteers to continue to deliver sport for our local community.

"Redrow has helped us to build our community as we help to keep it healthy and allow local children and adults to participate in team sport. This is particularly important during this period of COVID restrictions.”

Charlotte Newnes, area sales manager at Redrow South West, said; “We are committed to supporting communities and initiatives close to our developments to really make a difference in the local area.

"Winscombe Football Club has an amazing team set-up with longstanding heritage going back nearly 100 years, so we are excited to begin a new partnership with the club."
