Woodland Lawn Tennis Club’s juniors celebrated Wimbledon in style with a series of challenges during their usual Saturday morning coaching sessions.

They were asked to complete an array of activities to earn points: a fitness circuit, rallying with a coach, tennis skittles for aiming practice and the speed gun to test how powerful their serves were.

Prizes were awarded to the top point scorer in each session, with all receiving certificates, and apart from the fun the event generated, it was also a chance for the junior section to raise some money for a set of blaze pods to assist with the development of footwork and reaction times.

A total of £289 was raised and delighted head coach Dan Burgess said: “Woodland’s juniors have an endless amount of enthusiasm for tennis and will always rise to any challenge that we give them with determination and spirit.”
