Youngsters triumph in Clevedon pairs cup final

SNOOKER - IN the final of the Clevedon District Snooker League Pairs Cup, held at Portishead Workmans Club, Mitchell Stockham and Kurtis Weaver beat Steve King and Paul Honess 3-0.

IN the final of the Clevedon District Snooker League Pairs Cup, held at Portishead Workmans Club, Mitchell Stockham and Kurtis Weaver beat Steve King and Paul Honess 3-0.Stockham and Weaver got off to a good start with Stockham compiling breaks of 30 and 21 to seal the first frame 68-21. In a tightly contested second frame Stockham and Weaver fought back when 15 points down on the colours. Honess misjudged a safety shot on the black, leaving an easy pot in the middle pocket for Weaver to take the frame 51-43. Stockham and Weaver got themselves into handy 35-point lead early on in the third. King and Honess competed well, but Stockham and Weaver took control of the table with some good safety exchanges. Stockham then potted green and brown, Weaver the blue in corner pocket to insure victory 52-29 and match.Mitchell Stockham and Kurtis Weaver are the youngest holders of this trophy aged 15. Congratulations to them.
