AT Clevedon Golf Club it was a case of youth and experience combining well when captain-elect Charles Griffiths teamed up with teenager Lizzie Stephens to win the Cam Gears Bowl main prize in the mixed open competition.
AT Clevedon Golf Club it was a case of youth and experience combining well when captain-elect Charles Griffiths teamed up with teenager Lizzie Stephens to win the Cam Gears Bowl main prize in the mixed open competition.
After a faltering double bogey start, Charles and Lizzie were five over at the turn, but birdies at the 11th. 15th and 16th holes saw them run out clear winners with a three over par 75.
The Rowles and Thomas Salver for the best stableford score was won by evergreen Mike Venables and Barbara Lambert with 38 points.
