THE tale of a fascinating king which was turned into an award-winning film comes to a stage in Bath
The Peter Hall Company 2011 season is completed by a new production of Alan Bennett’s The Madness of George III which is at the Theatre Royal Bath until Saturday.
The play is directed by Christopher Luscombe and features a cast of 24 actors led by David Haig as King George III with Clive Francis as Doctor Willis.
King George III founded the Royal Academy of Arts and had a passion for science, literature and music.
The Madness of George III premiered at the National Theatre in 1991 and went on to be turned into an award-winning film starring Nigel Hawthorne and Helen Mirren in 1995.
