THE Searchers will be playing in Weston-super-Mare as part of their final 'Thank You' tour, designed as a gesture of appreciation to the fans who have supported them throughout the decades.

The band will be performing at The Playhouse on April 21, 2023, as part of their 43 date UK tour.

This could be the last chance to watch the band live, who have been honing their sound since the band's formation in 1957.

Since then, the group has seen staggering success with 50 million record sales and thirteen UK chart hits.

Their iconic songs include When you Walk in The Room and Goodbye My Love, to name just a few.

The band is one of the longest standing musical groups in modern history. With 66 years of experience, they even beat the Rolling Stones, who have been performing for 61 years.

Original members of the band, John McNally (guitar, vocals) and Frank Allen (bass, vocals), will be joined by Spencer James (guitar, vocals) and Richie Burns (drums).

It has been four years since the band have performed live for audiences.

Frank said: “It’s been four years since our last tour. We all needed a break but now we are ready to come back and do what we do and love best.

"Mind you, I do sometimes shudder at what we’ve taken on – 43 dates in 3 months – that’s quite a schedule for a band of a certain age! But I’m really up for it as are the rest of the guys.”

John, now 81, said: “I set this band up in 1957 and so far things have worked to plan. I thought we would probably do a 43-date UK tour 66 years later. I’m joking of course!

"Who would have imagined that we are still able to do this – touring the best towns and cities in the UK and still playing to thousands of fantastic fans. I can’t wait.”

The band will be travelling all across the UK, including Somerset, Birmingham, Swansea, Leeds and more.

The final show will be held at the Liverpool Philharmonic on June 17.
