LOCAL acts could have the chance to showcase their talent in the upcoming Summerfest festival.

The festival, which will be held on Friday June 30 at The Grand Pier, has launched a competition in partnership with Weston College Music Department to find an act to open the night. The winners will have a 30 minute opening set and a £100 cash prize.

Whether you are a solo artist or part of a duo or a band, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

Other confirmed acts at the festival include The Lipinski Band, who are the headliners, as well as Eastertown, The Senna Weeks Band, and Good Vibes DJ's.

If you think you have what it takes, you are urged to submit one track via MP3, Soundcloud link, or similar to summerfestsubmit@yahoo.com by Friday May 26.

A panel of judges, including The Lipinski's, will evaluate the finalists in a final event held at Weston College Campus on the week of Monday, June 5.

Here is the schedule for the night

6.30 pm: Doors, Good Vibes DJ's in conservatory.

Residents can expect a mixed soundtrack of Funk, Disco, 80's and pretty much anything with a Good Vibe. This will take place all evening in the conservatory.
