PREPARE to be blown away by more three-dimensional, gas-guzzling thrills and spills as Cars 2 hits cinemas.

Owen Wilson, Jason Isaacs, Michael Caine and Larry the Cable Guy provide the voices in the PG-rated animated caper, which will be available in 3D and opens tomorrow (Fri).

Lightning McQueen (Wilson) and Mater (Larry) shift up a gear when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix, announced by oil tycoon Miles Axlerod.

But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an adventure of his own.

Although McQueen initially refuses to participate, Italian formula race car Francesco Bernoulli’s challenge, as well as Mater’s intervention, leads McQueen to enter the grand prix.

A group of cars, led by Professor Z and an unknown mastermind, plots to use it’s oil profits by using a top secret weapon against the entrants at the race, with British agents Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell attempt to foil the plan.

As Mater becomes involved in Professor Z’s dastardly plan, he tries to thwart the villain’s scheme while McQueen endeavours to win the race.

Torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret spy mission, Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, in this sequel to the smash-hit automobile animation.

Also lending their voices to the motor-fuelled mayhem are Emily Mortimer, Eddie Izzard, John Turturro and Thomas Kretschmann, while Lewis Hamilton appears as himself.

* HORRIBLE Bosses, also out this week, sees Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis play three men who hatch a devious plan to get rid of their three managers from hell.

The 15-rated black comedy, out in UK cinemas from tomorrow (Fri), features Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston and Colin Farrell as the bosses who make the trio’s lives miserable.

With the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con (Jamie Foxx), the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers.
