It seems a long time ago since we last had a bank holiday back in May and unsurprisingly there is a lot of events to enjoy across Weston this weekend.

Everything from sci-fi characters roaming along Weston seafront to stroking cute animals in Somerset will be on offer.

For a full round-up of what is happening however, pick up a copy of the Weston Mercury from newsagents tomorrow (Thursday).

* A barbecue and bouncy castle will be open to the public on Saturday.

Wick Farm, in Lympsham’s Brean Road, will hold a family fun day from 11am-4pm.

A soap-making workshop, birds of prey display, tractor rides and more will be on offer.

Cakes and cream teas will also be served.

* There will be a party to enjoy at Weston Museum on Sunday.

The attraction, in Burlington Street, will mark a year since it reopened following a major refubishment.

Games and treats will be on offer from 10am-5pm and, of course, there will be the opportunity to learn more about Weston’s intersting past.

* Animal-lovers can head down to Secret World in East Huntspill this weekend and get up close to the centre’s animals.

To raise money, it will fling open its doors to the public from 10am-4pm on Sunday and Monday.

Entry costs £50p-£1, with the money raised supporting the charity’s endeavours.

* Sci-fi fans will be in for a treat this weekend.

The Stars Of Time convention will be held at the Tropicana, in Marine Parade, on both Sunday and Monday.

For tickets, priced £3.50-6.50, and opening times, visit www.starsoftime.co.uk

* Why not take advantage of an extra day off work and enjoy Worle Lions’ family event on Monday?

The fun day will feature music, games and a whole lot more besides from noon to 4pm at the Recreation Ground, off Milton Road.

If you go along to any of these events, why not upload your pictures to weston.iwitness24.co.uk? The best shots will be used in the Midweek and the Mercury.
